Right in the middle of the historic center, close to the main mosque (Jame Mosque), there is this little gem of a hostel. It comes complete with a traditional yard with cooling basin (and there's even a few gold fish swimming in it). From the rooftop you have an amazing view over the city and the surrounding mountains.
Most of YAZD’s major sights are within walking distance of the hostel, including the beautiful Masjed Jameh Mosque, the Amir Chakhmaq complex, Bazaar, water museum, fire temple and Dowlat Abad garden.
The rooms are all situated around the yard. Western and traditional toilets and shower facilities are brand new. The hostel contains dormitory beds which are all situated around the yard.

Hice la reservación en el website. La cobraron. Llegué con el taxi 21:00 hrs y el TAZD HODTEL RESTUP CERRADO!
Nunca contestaron el teléfono ni abrieron.
Inmediatamente, reservé en FRIENDLY y me atendieron de maravilla.

This was a nice beautiful family-run hostel, a great place to stay in Yazd. The owner is so enthusiastic and helpful, he deserves a 10 in hospitality.
The breakfast in the patio near the fountain was one of the highlights of my trip to Iran.
The only disadvantage is that is a bit far from the very centre (about 10 minutes walking), but on the other hand it was peaceful and noiseless at night.
