Bunga Jabe has a marvellous white sand beach. At low tide, you can walk hundreds of meters into the blue Java Sea. We went there to enjoy lunch, prepared by a locally famous Buginese chef. All the ingredients were fresh, so we had to wait for a while. But that was no punishment. We had a beautiful view at the sea. The serving staff was very friendly, explaining the course. ‘Piece de résistence’ was the special cooked ‘ikan kakaktua’, parrotfish, served with white rice. The side dishes were also very tasty. After the eating, we chilled in the shade of coconut-palm trees.
