Agartha Hostel and Camping

This was beautiful experience sleeping on tent in Boquete. Agartha hostel has a magically and mystical environment , great place and warm welcoming , the hostal family was so friendly, empathetic and proactive in their service. They give us an unforgettable memories fully recommended ♥️

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. Amir is really friendly and he knows how to make everyone feel welcome, really attentive, he created a great environment encouraging everyone to hang out with each other. He took us on a hike and is always looking for activities to do that might be interesting for most of the guests. His mom is also really charming. The place is a little bit far from the center which makes it perfect for relaxing away from the noise but close enough to get there walking, also the taxi

While this may have been a good place to stay at one point, I wouldn’t recommend it now for a few reasons detailed below - Cleanliness: I get that this is hostel life, but the condition of the hostel was very poor. There was food all other the table and kitchen, which led to more bugs entering the hostel. He said he was going to clean our bathroom, but that never happened. My friend ended up sick the entire time we were there, but she’d feel better when we left the hostel for the day and all her symptoms cleared up after we checked out, so there may be mold in the walls that was contributing to how she was feeling. Location: This is a 40 minute uphill walk from town. The cheap transportation the owner had in prior comments stopped working with him (as he said himself), so the only option is calling a taxi or walking. The taxi ride is around $4 per person each way. This added up quick, offsetting the cost we were saving by not staying close to town. We were really looking forward to this stay due to the community & family feel mentioned by prior guests, but we were left disappointed.
