Hostel L'Ambassade Bretonne Vieux-Port

Absolutely beautiful, central location with a gorgeous view. Nothing for people who like it quiet at night (street is loud) or people who like it clean (pretty much every surface was sticky and smelly:)). Also don't chose this place, if you want to be sure to be able to lock away your belongings and / or doors at night or while you're out. Even though there are theoretically enough lockers for every guest, the keys seem to be missing and the staff was disorganised and somewhat inflexible when confronted wit

I would not recommend anybody to stay here. Location is good (views and close to metro), otherwise had a very poor experience as listed below. Hopefully providing awareness for future travellers and feedback for the owner to make some improvements. 1. No keys to the apartment door, once provided did not work. 2. Lockers in the dorms but no keys provided. Given 1 key (party of 2) which did not work on locker assigned (or any others). Did eventually manage to get two working lockers. 3. Kitchen under stocked e.g For a 6 person dorm only had 1 fork, 3 cups, no dishwashing liquid, kettle broken (list goes on) 4. Did not have linen ready for beds, waited till approximately 2130 for this to arrive. Blood stains on pillows. 5. Poor wifi in the dorm. Had to go downstairs to the restaurant to use as no common room area. We stayed for 3 nights and it was tolerable once we had secure lockers to keep passports/other valuables safe. Experienced a very scary night when (we think) the owner came into our room around midnight. Woke from his phone light and it looked like he was checking beds? Another person about 20mins later came into the bedroom to take the last bed available. Very frightening experience while knowing the front door was not secure. Finally honourable mention, my charging cord and adaptor going missing after the room was cleaned.

Super good for the price. Excellent location right next to the train station and just walk away from the beach. Just a little dirty but nothing you wouldn’t expect from a hostel.
